13th edition of the Ranjita Mishra Memorial Lecture Series held on 28th October 2018

Bhubaneswar: The 13th edition of the Ranjita Mishra Memorial Lecture Series was inaugurated and chaired by Prof Debi Prasanna Pattanayak (Padmashree) on 28th October 2018. More than 30 Eminent Psychologists and Educationists of the state, 125 Research Scholars and many distinguished guests attended the function held at CYSD, Bhubaneswar. Prof Raj Kishore Mishra introduced the guests on behalf of Ranjita Mishra Memorial Trust. Prof Bhaswati Patanaik, Head of Department of Phychology, Utkal University delivered the Keynote Memorial Lecture titled – “Journey Towards Innocence”.

The day long State Level Workshop involved PHD, MPhil, Post Graduate & Under Graduate students competing on Research Paper Presentations on Psychology and Education from Universities and Colleges across the State. Quiz competitions were also held for research students to access their academic and industry domain knowledge organized in parallel sessions. A Souvenir containing the research articles and abstracts of eminent Professor and Student Researches of the State in the field of Phychology and education was released.

Prof U.N.Dash, Smt Sneha Mishra and Sri P.K.Rath organized the day long Quiz competitions.

Prof Fakir Mohan Sahoo, Prof Bhaswati Patnaik, Prof Nibedita Jena, Dr Niranjan Sia, Dr Pramod Kumar Panda, Dr Joshamani Mishra and Dr Kalpalata Patri were the Jury for the Paper Presentation Competitions. The same was coordinated by Smt Sudha Mishra and Shri Devasis Sarangi.

The winners were awarded with cash prizes to the tune of Rs. 25,000/- (Twenty Five Thousand only) and certificates were issued by the Trust for the various categories.

Shree Jagdananda Ji, Founder Member Secretary of CYSD, Member Standing Committee of NITIAyog, GoI and ex Information Commissioner of the State, GoO; interacted with the research students, professors and guests and awarded the certificates and cash prizes.
He praised the activities of the Trust to realize the dreams of Ranjita; a young scholar who had an early demise at University of London during her Research in the field of Psychology on 20 October 2005. He also informed that CYSD has been the collaborating partner since the inception of this Lecture Series.

NGO AAINA (which works in the field of women empowerment and Disability) and OMM GYANVIKASH Trust (which works in the field of pre-elementary education – Little Steps Preschool and life skills – Helen O’ Grady International, Bhubaneswar) coordinated the activities of the Trust for this workshop.
