1, 31,518 posts lying vacant in various departments of Odisha Govt

Bhubaneswar: The State had a total of 5, 83,021 sanctioned posts of different grades in various departments as per the Establishment Review held on March 31, 2017 and, of them, 1, 31,518 are now lying vacant.

Finance Minister Shashi Bhushan Behera informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJP MLA Dilip Ray on Monday.

According the data furnished by Behera, there are a total of 23,018 Grade-A posts, 79,859 Grade-B posts, 3,16,803 Grade-C posts, 77,577 Grade-D posts and 85,764 Grant-in-Aid posts in various department of the State Government. Of them, Grade-A 8,622, Grade-B 25,231, Grade-C 63,733, Grade-D 22,926 and Grant-in-aid11,006 posts are lying vacant.

The Minister informed that 45,513 posts had been abolished between 1999 and 2008 to bring financial reformation and check excess expenditure.
